Well saints, we leave for Tampa Monday afternoon! Me, Lady Deacon, and the three kids, Big Brother Deacon, Little Princess Deacon, and Baby Deacon will catch our flight to Florida to set up camp at the General Conference in Tampa!!!!!!!
I will be glad to give detailed reports from the GC events I attend. I would also like to recruit any other fellow AFFers who will be in attendance, I can tell right now, I will NOT be at the Wednesday night festivities (its a GC tradition for me to miss the pre-conference concerta and PMA Music Awards Show---After singing in the old Harvestime Singspiration in Oklahoma City in 1987, I just can't bring myself to enjoy the new format. Too much dancing and gyrating on the platform, worldly styled songs from the 1980s, and the "UPC Oscars" just turns me off).
I will be there to hear Bro Haney on Thursday, I will attend the two business meetings, and I will catch the youth service on Friday and the Friday night service as well and the ABI Alumni breakfast on Saturday. The other events I cannot guarantee.
If there is anyone else attending who will be willing to give the "FULL REPORT" from the floor of the GC or a summary after the events I believe it would be appreciated by those AFFers left behind. (Sorry for the choice of terms here, but seriously, there are some of you who are in danger being "left behind" REPENT!!!!!)

If you even approximate your Pulitzer prize reporting of NAYC ... this should be a fascinating week. Thanks for volunteering.

It's really that bad isn't it? My wife was invited to sing but turned them down because I wouldn't buy her a new dress (see that other thread about the man who is "worse than an infidel...")
BOOMM and I once sang at a GC (I think BOOMM was there). We weren't asked back. After that they started having the 2 and 3 hour offerings. I don't remember BOOMM "gyrating on the platform." I do remember being mesmerized by the way his hair never moved. How does he do that?

I will give $20 to each person who goes to the front during the Song Service, faces the auditorium and starts "steppin.'"

And the altar at the GC is the best place for these backsliders to pray through. Or better yet, pray up in the "nose bleed" seats where the floor is usually sticky from all the soda you guys sneak into the service.
Do tell us how many folks are out in the lobby talking and visting while services are going on ?

I will be grateful to anyone who does the 'play by play', as I have dial-up and it is a pain to try and watch anything online.
Re your remarks concerning the Wed. songfest or whatever it is, everyone to their opinion I suppose, but I would love to be there.
I just found out last night that our Director of Ministries will be on the tabulating committee at GC. He said the main reason he wants to do this is to find out what the margin of victory is. He promised to let me know as soon as he finds out.
I will honorably do my duty and report back to the faithful watchers on AFF.
What's a good night to go and get saved? I may just do that. Or I may pull a "Borat", you never know. (Except I won't have a camera crew with me, so it won't be easy to discern! )
