Ferd, I have found myself being in your amen corner quite alot, but I think your post has a dangerous potential for instability.
Consider what you said above:

So far, everyone is reacting to what THAD SAID in his Farewell AFF thread starting post.
Your expression of view is fully established upon what a person, who you only read 1/8 of what he posts, said. Is his first post a plain, simple statement of fact or are the words of someone who can masterfully write for response?
