I had always thought the gospel was the death, burial & resurrection, but Jesus couldn't have preached this, because it had not happened until He had gone. The gospel here sure couldn't have been repentance, baptism and Holy Ghost, because that had not happened either.
Did He mean that He had come to preach that the Kingdom of God had come to earth? What did He mean by Him being anointed to "preach the gospel"? |

Gospel = "Good news"
It seems the word has gone through a metamorphis and doesn't mean good news in some circles. The "gospel" for some is a list of steps or a series of hoops to jump through. But with all the bad news bombarding people today I think it would be good to go back to the simple and original meaning of the word and declare there is some good news for whosoever will. Sin? Good news, it's covered! Curse? Good news it's broken! Death? Good news, it's defeated!
