I fully understand how people can be sensitive about this (considering something like 1/3 to 1/2 of all kids grew up with a jerk of an alcoholic father or mother) and for that reason I specifically DON'T "celebrate" it -and don't understand myself how some college kids ENJOY it (something I alluded to in another post which has been conveniently ignored).

BUT..... when Jesus HIMSELF actually CREATED wine, to put ANY post mearly talking about it into the same arena as "celebrating sin", I have a problem with that.
Yes Randy, Jesus created wine, but was it w/alcohol? I really wish people would convince me that it was. Would it be just as extra biblical to say that the wine Jesus made was w/alcohol as it would be to say that just a small cup of alcohol to drink was going to send one to hell?

A literal reading of the Word says he did. I will leave it to the "you must first covert to Roman, then Greek, then English, then back to Hebrew, then Klingon, then back to English, to get the correct meaning" crowd to hash it out.

But I disagree that it was. Is that okay?

It was alcohol, even the scripture says that the Gov. of the feast commented that at most parties/celebrations the best wine is served first, because the time the bad stuff is brought out, people are to drunk to tell.

So I do believe that Jesus turned water into actual wine.

DA Carson, stated about this story,Jesus turned water into wine and men have been trying to turn it into water ever since

I believe he turned it into wine as well, just don't know if I honestly agree with you that it was with alcohol.
