carey, you are right, many that have not been around it cannot comprehend it. People, trust me, they are out there!! even in the year 2007!!

We had one in our area (back in the 80s & 90s) who use to beat his members up physically if they disobeyed him.

I have a friend who told me about another one in his area who had a paddle in his office and would give grown Men and women a whipping for breaking the standards or rules

Something that still causes me hurt is that my Pastor would not pray for me. I would be in the altar time and time again crying...just wishing my pastor would lay hands on me and pray for me. Know what he would do, every time...he would approach me, interrupt my prayers and then ask me to make a flyer, give me a task to do or ask if I'd gotten something done. It made me feel so unloved...

I use to have saints interrupt me during prayer for flyers, copies, etc. but never the pastor. I use to get so mad. I constantly had to pray through when I was the church secretary. I couldn't imagine how it would be if it was the pastor.

THAT IS THE TRUTH!!!! I have to fight more bad spirits in this job (church secretary) than I ever have before!!! It was so wonderful to just be able to come to church to go to church. Now, half the time I feel like I am playing dodge the saint! LOL! It is like, "We are open 40 hours a week people, LEAVE ME ALONE"!

Yes, it's so inconsiderate to interrupt someone when they are praying. I remember the one time he did pray for me, I walked up to the front of the church just sobbing...I needed something from God...I was desperate! He asked me what I needed and I responded that I did not know...he prayed for me, but it very much half-hearted.

I am SOOOO sorry that you had to go through that, it just is not right! But the wonderful thing is, no matter what men bring against us, God is still always faithful.

What about those pastors that try to probe into married saints bedroom habits.

When we were newly weds, the pastor of a church I used to attend approached my wife and I, and he wanted to meet with us to find out how we were enjoying married life. We we so shocked when he asked what is it we like to do with each other (sexually). We repectfully decline to answer the question, and quickly dimissed ourselves from the meeting because I was on the verge of declaring him a pervert.

One church rule was also, if a married couple stays home on a church night and have any kind of sexual relations it would be considered Lust because it is a church night and therefore a sin.
