And as a P.S. - you are correct about "libs and mods" "hurting other people's lives." However in the Apostolic movement and the UPCI specifically, you will find that it has tended to be the "cons" and "UC's" that have caused most of the pain over the years. A Google search will demonstrate that.
Google is going to bring up what? spiritual abuse? no bone to pick there and a very, very realiable source. rr, if you google him, has been convicted of breaking and entering, kidnapping, and is called an out-and-out liar in news reports by the FBI and ATF who he claims, or claimed at one time, to help with Waco.

Hold their feet to the fire? A group of men are discussing and planning and trying to figure out what they are going to do. Why don't you wait a few weeks and see what they want to accomplish? What do you even care for? You are tearing down some good men and I don't really think, from reading your comments, that you know what you are talking about.

I grew up in a church that was UPC and was taken out of the organization over loosening standards and my life and ministry was harmed by a "lib." That's my personal experience.

I don't even know why I'm bothering to reply to this nonsense. Of course, I'm a harsh whatever.

Pa started on the frame house that spring. We had been living in the sod dugout up until then. Except the girls, they moved into the loft of the barn as soon as that was built.

Some itinerant Methodists come around from time to time and folks would go to the revivals. Of course there was no dancing allowed for several weeks after such a meeting. Pa's drinking became more secretive too. It was a tough winter - lots of cold but not enough snow. The cisterns in the bluffs are low and pasture for the cows will be sparse.

Well, that's the news from the farm.
Shades of Will Henry and Elmer Kelton Pelathais!!! Give me more! Your talents are being wasted with puny little posts. I anxiously await the next chapter.

I have read most of this thread but not all of it.

I have confidence in Old Paths veracity but there are a few things that make we question the authenticity of the letter.

First it is poorly written. The sentance structure is awkward. Much as one would do while quickly dashing off a post on a forum.

Secondly he refers to Nathanial Wilson as "Nate Wilson". I don't know Pastor Booker but for a conservative that seems like a very informal and personal reference to a fellow pastor in a public letter. I would have thought he would have used his full name.

Of course I coudl be wrong. LB could just be a poor writer or not taken time to craft a better letter and pehaps everybody calls Pastor Wilson "Nate" in formal correspondance.

I wouldn't say you're "a harsh whatever..." You've had your experiences and they have helped to form your opinions. I've had different experiences and different opinions- on some issues. There's probably others that we agree on.

Just curious, how do you describe "lib?" I mean in general. Is it just standards for you or does a "liberal" also have to view the Bible as uninspired the way the larger Church world identifies "liberals" from "conservatives?" Among Apostolics, as Elder Epley says, "Im some one's liberal and some one else's conservative."

What's a "liberal?"

More info, TIDM! How do you know? What are your sources? Has he sent no email like this or is this one "doctored" so to speak?

Your readers want to know.

I can believe that. It was poorly written. For a man writing such an important letter with momentous implications I would have expected more care to have been taken.

I wonder if it wasn't an internet joke sent by someone just for fun to various preachers who accepted it as genuine as they had no cause to question it?

He has reliable sources, I can't verify the truth either way, but TIDM does have very good sources.

Booker did not write the letter and Steadfast is accurate. So you can all sleep well.

There will be a new org someday. But not until a couple of years. Every Org splits after about 50 years. So the UPCI has been due.
