The Brother turned to me and said that he watched my daughter when I climbed behind the pulpit and started to preach, and how she placed down her book and focused right on what I was saying. I feel everyone loves to hear their preacher preach, it doesn't make them preacher worshippers. Unless they go far beyond listening to just the preaching and following someone when they do wrong.

I agree! I have men that I would drive the distance to hear them. I don't worship them, I just know that they are going to deliver the Word of God! I've also seen people that live their lives with the "because the pastor said so" mentality....that is just wrong.... It's great your daughter listens to you! How old is she?

That's great that she is attentive at a young age! My boys will listen to preaching anytime we are in service and they are in that age bracket. But I have noticed that there are some preachers that know how to hold their attention even though they are preaching to the adults!

My children are still far more worldly (I almost typed heathen..lol) than good little church kids. I'm doing good if the 3 and 6 year old even stay in the sanctuary thru worship, forget the preaching. We'll see how almost 2 weeks of missing services impacts church tomorrow night.

I was one of those "moms" that other children didn't want to sit with but other parents would ask me to watch them during service. From a very young age, I quit letting them have books or toys in service... Nothing... Yes it was hard, but they learned really quick and because of that, they will sit still and listen. They don't fidget, doodle or have to use the restroom during service ESPECIALLY the preaching... I had to do that and it has paid off! I have to hear God's word and I was not going to let my children distract me! LOL... But that is how I was brought up and there is nothing seriously wrong with me! LOL
