I am curious to know what you think is right..... ??? what is it you believe on this stuff...and not just "my church rules are"...do you feel these things are mandated by God??? Would you marry a wife with anything less than what you believe when it comes to the standards you mentioned???

Yes, you personally....Do you think it is the Word that mandates these things or do you think it should be so because that is what your church upholds. Meaning, when you marry these things are important to you....!!

Pretty much plain - I wear a little "cover up" for blemishes, I am not blessed with flawless skin!! And I see nothing wrong with little lip gloss as long as it is not colored.

ATTIRE
No pants, skirts below the knee, slits below the knee, fitted but not tight, sleeves - usually to the elbow but that is just my preference I see nothing wrong with shorter ones as long as they cover the shoulder and the arm pit area. Shirts not too revealing in the way they fit or in the neck line. Yes,I wear nylons even though I hate them with a passion - in the summer I only wear them on Sunday nights when the choir sings.

JEWELRY
functional only (wedd ring, watch, hair clip)

i'm conservative for myself personally but I give individuals a lot of leeway and freedom. i realize that opinions and scriptural interpatation varies on some issues . i truely believe that modesty is mandated for everyone though .
the standards I mentioned are girl standards. they are things that women often struggle with not men.

I think she was asking about your PERSONAL feelings concerning these standards. Where do you personally stand on these issues?

Agreed...but while men get around this issue because they don't have to deal with it....I am wondering where some stand on it. This gets close to home when it becomes your wife wearing splits and shorter sleeves. It's different when your wife starts to just trim her hair. I was just wondering how strongly you feel about some of these things since you wonder how many of us adhere to them... that's all...

This often happens with the kids and grandkids especially LC.
A man who preaches it hard sometimes takes a softer approach
as his kids enter puberty and the teen years. that's why it's important to have some flexibility. I have seen a lot of preachers have to eat their words and a lot of hurt bitter people left confused. that's exactly why i said i am conservative FOR MYSELF. as for my wife, I think this has to be ironed out before marriage to make sure both are basically on the same page. people do change their opinons and views on life as the years go by. obviously in any relationship there has to be some flexibility but overall i would want a wife that represents our faith, Apostolic.
