Totally plain, makeup free... although I believe that a little powder on the nose is okay, I've never liked having anything on my face
ATTIRE
skirts past knees, shirts at/past elbows, slits in skirt... nothing shows above knees, top of shirt allows no 'view' when standing straight or otherwise, I hate nylons with a passion + I'm in florida so that's SOOOO not happening, Oh, and nothing skin tight... that defeats the purpose of modesty
JEWELRY
on me... not a stitch (I don't think hair accessories are jewlery, unless they are gold, or silver, or have jewels and pearls) although I think plain watches are okay.... I never had liked liked having anything on my wrists or hands
My standards havn't loosened, the jewelry and make-up were never issues for me anywayz. My ears & button are pierced, but that was from when I was still in the world and they have closed. Funny thing... I never wanted to wear rings... I used to say that when I got married I would get a ring tattooed rather than wear a ring... of course I won't do that now

Hair- I don't cut or trim my hair.
Makeup- None.
Attire- I wear skirts with no slits. Although I don't feel a modest slit in your skirt will send you to hell--I feel better and more modest without them. I have wore short sleeved shirts but lately have felt more confortable in 3/4 length sleeves. i am in the process of changing my wardrobe to all 3/4 or long sleeved shirts.
Jewelry- I wear my wedding ring and see nothing wrong with watches or hair barrettes as long as they aren't flashy.
My outward appearance has changed in the last few years-- I am more conservative. I can't say my Standards have changed though.

MAKEUP
Pretty much plain - I wear a little "cover up" for blemishes, I am not blessed with flawless skin!! And I see nothing wrong with little lip gloss as long as it is not colored.
ATTIRE
No pants, skirts below the knee, slits below the knee, fitted but not tight, sleeves - usually to the elbow but that is just my preference I see nothing wrong with shorter ones as long as they cover the shoulder and the arm pit area. Shirts not too revealing in the way they fit or in the neck line. Yes,I wear nylons even though I hate them with a passion - in the summer I only wear them on Sunday nights when the choir sings.
JEWELRY
functional only (wedd ring, watch, hair clip)

Ok, here are my answers. I believe that standards are different in everyone's life regardless even if you all go to the same exact church!!! Most of these above are personal convictions but there are a few that I do just simply to be obedient and submissive - I would not attend a UPC church if I could not humbly abide by their guidelines. I am happy with my life and the way I dress and I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!! This is the best way to live whether these issues are salvational or not!!!!!!

I am curious to know what you think is right..... ??? what is it you believe on this stuff...and not just "my church rules are"...do you feel these things are mandated by God??? Would you marry a wife with anything less than what you believe when it comes to the standards you mentioned???

Nope, that's just standards.... Holiness is on the inside and shows on the outside after you have it in your heart

One thing I agree with you is that most of these are personal convictions...however, in UPC, they are a STANDARD (and oftentimes a measuring stick of "holiness").
