A call centre, or head office, or branch office in Canada goes something like this:

Me: "Hi, how are you?"
Them: "Fine thanks, how are you?" (nice voice)
Me: "Not to bad, there is a lot of snow here today, we aren't used to that!
Them: (Laughter) I bet you are not used to it where you are, my call display shows that you are in Vancouver, in Toronto last night it snowed 15 CM & is minus 30!"

The conversation cab go on like this for a few minutes depending on if it is busy or not.

It seems the Americans don't banter at all in friendly talk.

Has anyone else seen this, is it a policy?

Is there a lack of fiber in diets??

Why the crankiness?
To be honest with you, most Americans are really time oriented, and not relationship oriented. On the job most of us are given time limits on business calls so our productivity is greater.

I tend to be all business and have to remind myself there is a person on the other end. Thank-you for calling it to our attention.

Blessings, Rhoni

It was actually just a question Rhoni.
So far I think you are the only one who answered it.
