I was in a UPC church a while back for service. The pastor had no coat, no tie, and his shirt tail hanging out.

I get your point Rev. But I have come to church straight from work in my uniform. Clean, but in work clothes, because of time restraints. But you can ask Big-Larry I dress up for church hat and all.

It's a rule that's been around Pentecost for years and years MM.
when a woman didn't have hose on they use to call it "going bare legged" lol! most of our churches required ALL the women to wear them when they stepped out of the house. I have not heard that preached in years but many do still require it just on the platform probably because the dresses are not as long as they use to be???
