I know alot of pastor and preachers that might would go to conf and $50.00 is not pocket change to them. I know to me when I go to GC that is two day allotment for food. Not every pastor is rich, many live on a tight budget and work secular job to make end meet. But I guess one is not important unless they pastor 500 or more.

I can only think of two reasons to go to a General Conference:

1) You've got money to burn.

2) You're on a per diem from some level of the org.

In either of these two cases, $50 is chump change.

I can't think of any reason why any pastor on a budget would spend their hard earned money on General Conference. There are better uses for your conference dollars.

WH, I'll agree with you.
I think it's a lot of money to pay to go to our own General Conference.
We already pay National Dues, District Dues/Tithes.
Thankfully a minister does NOT have to pay to enter the business sessions.

I don't think will help attendance at all.

It now costs a family of four $200 to go to GC, on top of travel expenses.

We are a family of four. TO think that before we leave home or do anything it';s $200.00 off the top. I might could do that now, but in the past no way. When in home mission and trying to go to GC, it was motel 6 and McDonald dollar menu, you think we could have afford and extra $200.00?

I believe that these men should be able to have a vote and go to the service, but with this extra expense I don't see how they can.

Are we becoming a rich man org.?

On child is adult (19) and it want be too long and the other will be also.

General Conference sessions are not "church."

They're infomercials with a devotional tacked on the end.

I'll bet that you charge members 10% of their income to go to your church.

General Conference is for members.

Why would any member balk at paying their share of the conference expense?
