CH,
I want to focus on what you posted here with a little information about Obama.

Obama shows an account of his life in his first book, "Dreams From My Father", stating he consciously sought out people on the far left fringe. Of college, he says, "I chose my friends carefully".

In Obama's own words his chosen friends included "Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk rock performance poets", as well as, the "more politically active black students." He also later visited a former member of the terrorist Weatherman underground, who endorsed him when he ran for state senator.

Obama didn't just happen to encounter Jeremiah Wright, who just happened to say some off the wall things. Jeremiah Wright is in the same mold as the kinds of people Obama began seeking out in college -- members of the left, anti-American counter-culture.

It's just what it is.

Good post. Obama is what he is which is an extremely liberal, possibly even radical politican who clothes himself in a suit, charisma, and a great speaking voice and style.

He is trying to come across as a reasoned moderate who who bridge all of the various differences in America when in fact he represents the extreme of one of those differences.

Further information. His current presidential campaign has stated that the Senator has a friendly relationship with the terrorist. (they dont call the terrorist a terrorist though.)

You’re taking one sentence and using it to broad brush a man’s entire life. I disagree with that. Even when individuals make such statements and intend to mean them, there’s far more to the picture than their words are expressing. So we take this sentence, and if Obama ever felt lead to talk to a Hindu…you assume he agrees with Hinduism and all that it teaches. Do you see what I mean? It’s inflammatory, suspicious, paranoid, and targeted to destroying someone as opposed to understanding them. This is the same kind of thing we see in studio journalism on the right all the time. Someone will have a politiacian on their talk show and say, “Senator Somebody, you once said you hate cats. That leaves me to assume you have no problem with animal cruelty. Did you say this, yes or no?!” When the man tries to explain himself, he’s interrupted, accused of trying to color the story, and then accused of not being straight forward by providing a yes or no answer. When in fact…it’s a set up. Even if he did answer, “Yes, I said that.”, the host would say, “I don’t understand why you don’t have a problem with animal cruelty.” If the guest said, “But I do.” Then the host would answer, “So were you lying when you said you hate cats? Yes or no Senator?!” If the guest were to answer, “No, well at least that’s not what I meant.”, the host would answer, “Ah, but that’s what you said Senator, where you lying then or lying now?!” By the end of the conversation I feel terribly sorry and embarrassed for the guest and highly upset with the targeted tactics of the host who’s out to destroy…not to understand.

You’re essentially doing what you’ve been taught by the right wing. You’re essentially saying, “Obama said, ‘I chose my friends carefully’. Now we see in his writings that he had become friends with an Communist revolutionary. That leaves me to assume he supports revolutionary communist change!” Pressing…I’ve come up from that kind of conservatism. And I see right through it.

See…what did I tell you?

I’ve had good friends of nearly any political strip you can imagine. Especially when in school. So what?

Here’s how complicated issues can be back here in the real world. A person can be passionate about a cause and get caught up with a movement be it communist, socialist, environmentalist, racial empowerment, revolutionary, whatever. Then they can begin to realize that the methods used by this group are actually harming the cause they believe in. So they separate from the group to pursue the issue they feel so passionate about peacefully through education and democratic means. Do they still stand for the same things as they did when part of some strange movement? Yes, but do they still agree with the same methods? No. And often politicians and individual activists discuss methods of addressing the issue.

For example, some anti-abortion groups used to be feared among the more liberal crowd because they should shoot doctors and bomb clinics. Technically, this was terrorism. There are many leaders in the Pro-Life movement today who used to be involved with groups and individuals who advocated those radical methods. But today they believe in resolving the issue peacefully through the democratic process. Would it be right to classify any Pro-Life politician who meets with one of these individuals as having sympathies toward Anti-Abortion terrorism? No. That would be absolutely crazy and disingenuous.

Now let’s consider this former member of the Weathermen. Who is this person? Can you provide us a name? Why did they leave the Weathermen? These are important questions that should be answered to determine proper context of Obama’s relationship with this person.

Walk in their shoes. If your people were subjugated and forced into slavery for 400 years with beatings, abuses of all kinds, division of families, not allowed to own property or maintain wealth, rarely educated, and then suffered at the hands of institutionalized discrimination, hatred, and injustice leading all the way up until the 1960’s and 70’s…I suspect that you might be a little anti-American establishment too.

Let’s turn the tables on ourselves. Most conservative Christians I know hate the American government. They hate anything that is “government”. They hate regulations, anti-discrimination laws, labor laws, wage laws, international treaties. They hate gay rights and our government for providing them. They hate women’s rights and the pro-choice position of America. They have disdain for all American entertainment, sports, leisure, customs as innocent as Christmas trees and Easter Bunnies. LOL But these cat’s are Pro-American? For most they’re regarded just being just as anti-American as their Leftist counterparts.

So can you provide answers to these questions about the Weatherman?

Who is this person?
Why did they leave the Weathermen?

Or maybe he's a Stalinist! LOL

You'd vote for a politician who would impose Biblical Law following a conservative interpretation of Historic Christianity in the US? Bro...he'd have our churches closed and prosecute us as heretics. The goal of the Dominionist is to bring government, church, and society into compliance with historic Christian teaching. I.E. Radical Fundamentalist Trinitarianism.

You'd vote for something with the titles "Conservative" or "Christian" in it even though you don't know what it is. That's absolutley scary.

Bro. Ferd...do you believe some folks are psychologically brain washed to swallow some buzz terms without question and reject others? Kinda like "newspeak" was used in the novel Big Brother?

I'm increasingly thinking this is the case.
