What does "being Apostolic" mean to you?
Just wondered what Apostolic means on this forum.

Personally I don't put a lot of stock in it. I think its arrogant to claim we follow the teachings of the apostles, we clearly do not. The church has changed because culture changes. I am a follower of Jesus I don't need a title, you can call me Pentecostal, Christian, whatever. If the Apostles were here today they would say as Paul did to the Galatians, "Who hath bewitched you, having begun in the Spirit are you now made perfect by the flesh."

I think Barbiegirl is experiencing the culture shock of AFF, she jumped in feet first and didn't acclimate herself to the water first!
It is OK, sis., you just have to realize that everybody has a different interpretation of the answer to that question, and you will definitely get as good as you give on here. I found it overwhelming at first, but you are doing fine, as long as you make sure to have a thick skin about things!

Actually, I believe being Apostolic means following the Apostles doctrine which included, but was not limited to, preaching the Gospel of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. It follows that mankind's necessary response is to identify ourselves as Christians through faith, repentance and baptism by immersion in the name of Jesus Christ.
The fruit of this preached message is the power (dunamis, or dynamite power) that Jesus promised in Acts 1. That fruit is the Holy Ghost living inside of us.
