Very wise statement. Again I am not trying to stand on a soap box about this, but it certainly is a problem in our midst. It is a wonder that more of our ministers are dying in the pulpits. But it might be cause they spend more time at the table eating than other things. JMHO

Maybe there was a time when God winked at our ignorance
but No More! Good saints are getting cancer and other diseases
left and right.

I think reasons are, we sit around too much now. The old folks
use to do a lot of gardening and physical work. Also, like Tpew
mentioned. they are putting a lot of chemicals in our food

I think that we teach more in actions than we do in words. I mean we talk about reaching the lost, but rarely do anything about it. We talk about getting healthy and staying that way, but never take the first step towards a gym or weight machine. I think that part of the issue is that working out can get uncomfortable in a long skirt and long pants. I for one go to the gym in shorts and a shirt, but the women in this movement might find it tough to workout at a gym in the clothing they are aloud to wear. Another reason to do away with the extra biblical teaching on dress code, LOL

But I feel that we need to be healthier than we are now. All we are doing is showing bad habits to our children. My wife is a soda drinker. Mainly she drinks Coca Cola. My 2 year old daughter has started drinking it too. I have made a big contention with my wife to at least move to Diet, No caff soda and move my daughter too. Eventually, hopefully sooner than later, my wife and dauther will stop altogether. It is just unsafe.

Actually, if you look at the research, diet sodas are much worse or at least just as bad for you as the reg. kind. Even if you are looking at it from only a weight loss perspective, there are many studies that show that something in the composition of diet sodas actually can cause you to gain weight.

It is much better to cut out carbonated drinks altogether, there are so many health issues with drinking any soda, diet or otherwise. I broke a serious addiction to them about 5 years ago, and after the initial adjusting period, I don't miss them at all.

I absolutley do not believe it! Diet sodas do not cause weight gain
whatsoever. They have no fat, no calaries and no sugar.

I do agree it's best to try to cut all sodas though

Did you go to any of the links I listed? This is not an isolated theory, there have been many studies on it.
