This is what I still don't understand. We have had a Republican President for 8 straight years. At one point we had a Republican Hill to go with it. Yet and still hundreds of thousands of babies have been aborted, and regardless of who is elected in November hundreds of thousands more will be in the next 4 years. So in my estimation we have always had and always will have baby killers in power. I am sick and tired of the abortion issue becoming a lip-service, rhetorical position.
I am not one for plenty of talk and what people say does not impress me one bit. Unless you are going to do something about abortion, quit harping on it in your campaign. It is patronizing, insulting, and to me is a slap in the face of all the babies who will be aborted.

Well at least we can agree on the fact that Repubs seem to enjoy tax cuts and slapping themselves on the back for lower taxes. However, for the most part haven't lived according to that budget, along with Democrats, on the spending side. Thanks to ALL of them this country is in debt to the Chinese and other foreign investors.

I don't know how much you make, I make $18.36 an hour....and Obama's plan will cut my taxes. Bush's plan really didn't do anything but shift tax burdens...my property taxes went up to fund programs that the Fed was no longer funding. Then factor inflation....

I'm not sure where this is headed, but let me say once again for the record that I am not a Democrat and have never voted Democrat. I am not a proponent of any candidate. My only problem is the lip-service that certain politicians pay to certain issues to blindly insure support while avoiding any accountability or pressure to deliver results by those core constituents, The same is true about the Democrat candidates who can blindly rely on the Black vote while delivering absolutely nothing. It is a travesty and it defeats the democratic nature of our political process.

The poor have a right to glean. I have no issue with TEMPORARILY helping those with welfare. Most states have laws restricting how long a person can be on welfare today.

The Republicans have gutted Social Security for years because they continually fail to balance the budget. Their very philosophy caused this problem. They new if they could gut the system, they would build the case to privatize it. Democrats, looking to fund programs without a balanced budget resorted to the same. Social Security would be in good shape today if the budget was balanced.

As long as one tempers what they have to say with love and respect for the sinner as a person I have no issue. I've heard preachers say things I don't want my 2 year old son hearing or saying. Words like "queer", "f@g", etc. are not cool. And I've seen preachers preach hatred for these people like they are the enemy. They are just sinners. I personally know a preacher in a Church that participated attacking a gay man....and bragged about it. I've seen it over the line.
But, I can see where some might be worried on this point. I'd get around it by making "sexuality" lessons private classes or address it privately in counseling. We have this illusion that everything has to be done in the pulpit.
