Sister, I was injured in our car accident and refused treatment, so now you've heard of it.
Rico, I'm speaking of injuries that require medical treatment. I'm not talking about a little bump on the head. People, both in and out of church and even those who don't believe in God refuse medical treatment for injuries that don't require it. That's not a biggie.
Why did your daughter receive treatment? I'm asking this not because of a 'AHA!' response you think I have, but I'm just wanting to know why she required treatment while you chose to trust God for your injuries.
I'm sure you also trusted God to care for her while the medical professionals were checking her out.

I could barely walk for almost a week. It was a lot more than a bump on the head. I could be lying there dying, and if I wanted to refuse treatment I could. Y'all ain't the Gestapo. People have the right to refuse treatment, even at the scene of an accident.

Nobody claimed we were the Gestapo. And if you were laying there dying, they won't allow you to refuse treatment. Even in an ER, if someone is beligerent and refusing treatment, they are usually sedated while the medical professionals do their job to save their life. I've seen that over and over.
I have yet to know of anyone suing the hospital later on for saving their life and/or violating their right to refuse treatment!
And I've been in an accident where I had worse injuries but didn't seek medical treatment than you mention above. Big deal. People do that all the time. It has little to do with beating one's chest in the name of trusting in God, even if that's why they are doing it.
I'm thinking your decision to not seek treatment had little to do with trusting in God, but rather, you didn't think your injuries were severe enough to warrant medical treatment. I could be wrong, but that what it sounds like to me.

Think what you want, but I knew I was injured. We got rear ended by a woman who was traveling 60mph. The impact slammed my tailbone area against the frame of the car seat. Once the adrenaline wore off, I knew I had suffered a serious injury. I could barely walk and could not go to the bathroom for almost a week. Chest beating had nothing to do with my decision not to seek treatment, both on the scene and after.
You simply can not accept the idea of people having enough trust in the Lord that they won't go see a doctor. I've been there, so I understand the mindset. People having that kind of faith is foreign to you because you don't have that kind of faith. Seeing as how you are a medical professional, I doubt you ever will, and that's fine. If you want to rely on doctors, treatments, pills, or whatever for your body, it's your choice. I am not trying to take that choice away from you.
I'm amazed that this thread is still rolling. Oneness Man has been clinging to his position in this thread for two months now and I admire that kind of tenacity. Some big names in history had that kind of tenacity. People have the right to believe any thought that pops into their head and call it a revelation from God, even if there is no Scripture to support it. Mohammad, Joseph Smith, and Jim Jones are great examples!
On a different note, if the injured man in the Good Samaritan story posted on this board, I get the impression that he'd be condemned by some of us here because he let the Samaritan treat his injuries instead of trusting in G-d and refusing treatment.
By the way, Jesus made medication. He compounded Jerusalem dirt with Nazarene spittle and anointed a blind man's eyes through the application of the clay mixture, resulting in the man's deliverance from blindness.
One last thing:
Witchcraft ≠ medication
As I'm compounding a sugar and dye-free cough medication, my thoughts will certainly not be far from this thought provoking thread. Shalom shalom.

This post is also proof that you haven't been reading my posts very well. NONE of my post say nor imply what you claim they do above. NONE of them.
