Nobody claimed we were the Gestapo. And if you were laying there dying, they won't allow you to refuse treatment. Even in an ER, if someone is beligerent and refusing treatment, they are usually sedated while the medical professionals do their job to save their life. I've seen that over and over.
I have yet to know of anyone suing the hospital later on for saving their life and/or violating their right to refuse treatment!
And I've been in an accident where I had worse injuries but didn't seek medical treatment than you mention above. Big deal. People do that all the time. It has little to do with beating one's chest in the name of trusting in God, even if that's why they are doing it.
I'm thinking your decision to not seek treatment had little to do with trusting in God, but rather, you didn't think your injuries were severe enough to warrant medical treatment. I could be wrong, but that what it sounds like to me.
