You need to re-read your post you made it about standards when there was no mention of standards. His post was about doctrine.
Alright Brother, you win.
God bless.

just wanted to say one little thing before i skip off for greener pastures....
I generally agree with the emboldened.... I dont know if I would call it a slippery slope but it sure is a bar of soap i dont want to wash with.
WAAAAAY too many people I know that have left mainline Apostolic churches for "greener pastures" end with the next generation being really good members of bapstist churches or the like.
and I could give you a list of names an arm long. I suspect a lot of those parents are perfectly fine with it. some arent I know that for a fact. but none the less, there is enough of this for me to know it is very real.
And the converse is true, as well.
I also know a bunch of young people who were raised in hardline churches of all denominations who don't even attend church at all.
So, once again, the broad brush does not work here, on either side of the fence.

I can also give you an arm long list of names of folks I know who left Apostolic churches over standards and while they attend a Neo-PCI type church, their kids have grown up to see no difference between themsleves and main line protestant christianity and while they attend some church it is some trinitarian church.
Ive seen LOTS of that.

dude you can't even tell me what I said wrong before so take the banana and

Ok, you're about to join our ranks of knuckleheads You quoted someone else yet you are speaking to me...doooh!!!
Referencing your other post from another thread which I felt to leave alone....the thread started with a quote from MYYYYYY Pastor's writings concerning Pharisees....the thread took many turns, then you stated that Pastors use this low standard to keep their saints. So, My Pastor's writings=low standard to keep saints=me telling you that MYYYYY pastor doesn't use any tactics to keep saints and that there are many here who can vouch for his ethics and kindness. Now, I ain't as dumb as I look, go getta coffee, you need one!!!

No Michael that isnt the converse. that is backslidden people who backslid.
maybe it was because they attended a hard line church that broke them. OK so we agree that ultra con churches that dont understand the love of God arent a good thing.
that doesnt undo the reality that doctrine is important, and leaving doctrine generally leads a person to land some place other than where they think they will.
My friend, two bad things dont make those bad things opposites or converse of each other. it just makes them two bad things.

I agreed with the post and said what I MADE BOLD for you is true. What I said was true and my reference to LOW standards has nothing to do with what you just said! The point that was BOLD was not about not teaching standards per se but about how pastors have improper motives when it comes to standards. Also how people who don't teach standards as well to keep everyone happy and pretty much don't teach any truth! Then you have some that DON'T STUDY per the BOLD AREA and keep the people ignorant as well while teaching there own doctrine that is not based on the Bible! I did not slam your pastor on what I referenced in that post! I did question him on another post but that had nothing to do with the post in which you went off about!
I also can make errors in clicking the wrong post and yep a knucklehead but I will correct whatever misconception once made aware! Again reread the area I was referrring to it had nothing to do with any pastor but a general reference to how some are!

Thats cool! I know that many will and have disagreed with him, I'm ok with that too. Just as long as people leave his ethics alone, now you clarified, we b cool.
