Actually, you both are incorrect. To say He cannot go against His word is nonsensical since He is all knowing and would never say anything that is against His plan.
Also, to suggest that He could go against His own decreed word would make Him out a liar and is against His character. His word is forever fixed. If He knows something will come to pass it will.
