Re: STARTLING! LARRY BOOKER'S Latest Message!!!(wa
Someone who would criticize and ridicule a Man of God, especially one the caliber of L.L. Booker.. is full of ignorance.
All the WPF is is what the UPCI suppose to of been.. but they backed up the bus.
The potential evil of a media (internet) does not justify tv.
If you want tv.. Watch it.. but don't ridicule Preachers who aren't changing.
And btw.. I do understand this kind of post rubs 95% or more of Pentecost the wrong way.

We should careful of our attitude towards each other and so much more towards leaders. I just heard a great message this sunday about "honor" as in respecting God, each other, our children, spouse etc.... Was really God. Can't be blessed disrepecting others.
Why can't things be discussed in maturity and respect?
Insecure? Pride? Novice?

I agree. We need to just be Christian.. and have common courtesy. AFF isn't especially know for that.
You mentioned insecurity, pride and being a novice. It comes down to.. IMHO.. A disdain for authority and not wanting to submit to a Man of God.

I'm a bit concerned that you felt the need to capitalize the word "man", TR.

Before you bash the UPCI and accuse them of not being what they are supposed to be, explain to me why the WPF people never used the judicial system of the UPCI. If so many UPCI preachers were doing wrong, why didn't the WPF men press charges while they were UPC? I have heard some of them say, "It wouldn't do any good." If it is wrong for a preacher to have a TV in his home in the UPCI, it was just as wrong for those "have been" UPCI now WPF preachers to not press charges. If they couldn't do it as UPCI, they will never enforce their WPF rules. The UPCI judicial system was set in place to keep the organization free of wrong. If a preacher chooses not to use the system, then he shouldn't complain nor run away. That is like griping about the president but never voting.

George, honestly, if you sense the whole system, and those in leadership positions are not abiding by the bylaws and rules and that you are going to march in and enforce it all through voting - that is, voting with men that have gone along with the system and are themselves guilty, that's Utopian, idealistic and wishful thinking at best.
I happen to know the judicial system was used year after year for decades. It wasn't untried. The tide was simply turning. Not to be harsh with this comparison, but it's like the Supreme Court out there in California. Their people have twice voted against Gay Marriage, but the leadership of California (the Supreme Court), and their leaders (senators, legislature, governors) have the opinion otherwise. It's just a matter of time until they breakdown the will of the people until they say "What does it really matter"? The GM knows this too. And eventually Gay Marriage will be a reality in every state in our dear nation. Same with what these in UPC saw happening. Not putting it on equal ground as Gay Marriage, but definitely things that they felt were long ago settled were year after year being challenged, until the will of the leaders was more and more becoming broken down.
So, these men did what they felt best, and left. JG, NW, CC, etc all these men were in leadership positions at one time with the UPCI. To me, it's not hard to understand why they did what they did. They love the brethern of the UPCI, but jumped ship because they didn't like where that ship was sailing.

I never said "those in leadership." You should re-read my post. I was not talking about voting on an issue. I was stating many preachers would not use the judicial system to fight issues they left over. They should have at least given the judicial system a try before running away mad. i.e. press charges on your neighboring pastor that has TV in his home if it is such an issue to you. Just for the record, I don't have a problem with TV. I do have a problem with preachers condemning their neighboring pastor for having a TV and refusing to use the system given tme to press charges but running away instead.

I'm saying the system has been used many times. They felt it would accomplish nothing but the inevitable, which is still to come. So they formed a new fellowship doing things the way they want to do it. What's wrong with that? Pressing charges would not have helped. Too many "dirty hands" on the issue.
