Re: TRANSRIPT Of Message By HANEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Churches are suppose to be sacred places, spiritual centers that we reverance. Jesus said my house shall be called a house of prayer.

If I want entertainment, I can go to disney. If I want coffee, there are plenty of starbucks on the way to church.

While I don't think it's wrong to provide fellowship, or have those things, I just think that often churches have to resort to trickery and gimmicks to get people to come because they lack the anointing that is SUPPOSE to draw men to christ.

Have you ever had a potluck dinner at your church? Has your church ever made peanut brittle to sell, or any other such fundraising tool?

So, what's the difference?

If you have a Starbucks in the foyer of the church, I'm quite sure the church is benefitting financially from its business.

Not sure I understand the difference here - no one is making anyone purchase a cup of coffee from the coffee shop before they can enter the sanctuary, if they don't want one, they don't have to buy one.

By the way, most churhes have "fellowship halls" for the sole purpose of "fellowshipping".

Why would anyone try to "trick" people to come to church - - they either want God or they don't.
I don't see anywhere the apostles used merchandise to bring in the masses. There were feast in different homes, but the feast was because of the masses, not the other way around. The church was built on itself, having church. The apostles went to the tabernacle to teach and pray, they went to peoples homes to fellowship and eat.

The question is a valid one, why would anyone want to tempt people to come to church ?

Yes, fellowship halls , that is where fellowship belongs. It does not matter if someone wants coffee or not. Coffee should not be the reason we go to church.

To feel the presence of God and hear an anointed message.

nobody said coffee is the reason WE go to church, because WE are the church. There is no "only valid reason" for a sinner to "come to church" or to stand there on the street corner and listen to what you have to say. Fellowship Halls were not made for sinners. They are made for saints though do to the church's openess there is no reason a sinner can't be with us too

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I have no problem with fellowship or having coffee, getting to know one another better, etc I think that is very healthy & neccessary for a church.

I just don't want it to take the place of prayer or church. everything in its proper place.
