Goodness, what a morning is right!
Maybe that roast was meant to be dated to be okay until the 7th because it would be a little unusual to date a roast to be okay 9 days later from the time it was packaged. Meat won't keep that long ordinarily. There was definitely some big mistake there.
Hope the rest of your day turns out much better and goes much smoother than your morning!
