It does? Other than conception being manipulated in a clinic, how does a "virgin" conceive, and how does it happen "all of the time?" The moment a "virgin" takes on the act required TO conceive, she ceases to be a virgin.
Obviously we are still discussing humans here...aren't we?
Uh... no. Unless there's any truth about that one guy in the Enquirer - but then I'm too squeemish to look into that.
However, the process of parthenogenesis (virgin birth) is commonly seen in nature. This has led me to conclude that it could happen in "higher" forms like mammals and even humans, though it is so improbable that if it were to occur you would call it "miraculous." Thus, I end up making a statement of faith regarding the birth of Jesus Christ.

Wouldn't that be, essentially, a natural clone, and therefore a female baby?

By virgin do you mean where the hymen is not broken or do you mean never having had any sexual contact (speaking of humans)?
I don't see how, sans the miraculous or medical intervention, a woman can possibly conceive and never had sex. What explanation is there otherwise?

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

The thing with the hymen is RCC doctrine used to maintain the idea of "perpetual virginity..." They would assert that Jesus passed through the membrane miraculously without rupturing it. I would not make such an assertion. I also accept the accounts of his natural brothers and sisters at face value.

When a haploid cell differentiates and a viable embryo is formed, you have parthenogenesis. At one time all organisms reproduced through non-sexual means. Many still do so today. "Sex" is one result of biological evolution and came along many thousands (or millions?) of generations into the game.
