Friend, what if I felt that soda was wrong to drink and persuaded the UPC to pass a resolution banning it from your life? Would you think this was a holiness issue? Or would you feel that your liberty was infringed upon?

I mean, there are no specific prohibitions on soda in the Word. How do we reconcile your liberty and my convictions?

There is a big difference in a soda and TV.

I was raised in a house with a TV and that was back in the 60's and early 70's and it was horrible back then. I can't see how anyone could thing that it is OK. There is no way to be spiritually minded and watch such.

I heard Elizabeth Elliot on the radio a few years ago. This woman don't even have the truth but she said there was no way to watch even 30 minute of TV and obey Phil. 4 : 8.

I believe that if TV is allowed it will lead to the ban on TV being lifted and that will lead to the downfall of the UPC.

This is another statement that indicates that if this thing passes ... there will be an Tsunami.

But what if I feel that soda is a bigger sin than tv? Don't you care about my holiness standards?

Soda is as bad for you as alcohol.

Great spirit shown there. But, when a person has hardened their heart after the devices of the world, what should be expected. Soon, they will call me a Pharisee and a legalist. Oh well. Guess I will have to live with being right...I mean conservative, instead of living in damnation of being like the world. Woe is me. Woe is me.

Wake up and smell the Folgers!! (faintly in the background you hear "The best part of waking up is Folger's in your cup!" )

Conservative churches that don't allow television are full of people that watch television! It's not going to go away! The people need to learn Godly principles!! Legislating rules doesn't work all of the time!

Maybe he meant Morg or is that Morgue. Any ways some should just throw their bibles away and write their own holiness standards. There is only one holiness standards and that's God's and I don't see long sleve shirts and ties in it.

No, those who watch that mess better repent of that rebellion. If the church has a standard against it, then there is biblical reason for it. You can legislate sin all you can, but the best way is to abstain.

But I FEEL that soda is worse than tv. Doesn't that matter to you?

What if I get a resolution passed banning soda for preachers only? What would you do?
