So could eye makeup play into this? Like what's the purpose of eye makeup? To bring attention to the eyes, right? Why do they eyes have to be painted to look at people?

All I know is that verse does not say eye makeup

Re: Cosmetics???

Good grief. I wear a little eyeliner, a soft eye shadow, and mascara. It makes my eyes look bigger and brighter. The same reason people whiten their teeth or curl their hair - to look better. There's nothing wrong with trying to look better! Some of us weren't born with all natural beauty!

I don't look like a hussy, or have the Jan Crouch/Tammy Faye look. There is moderation in all things. I just look like a normal woman, and I think God is pleased. I don't draw attention to myself.

My wife is like that, doesn't need makeup.

My purpose for this thread is for years I never really researched this out, just accepted it without much thought, but that was before I turned into Truthseeker. So now I would like to know what the scriptures realy say on the subject. I am asking questions as if against makeup to bring out as much info as possible.

When I was in my 20's/30's, I didn't need much makeup. Just a little powder, curled eyelashes, etc. In my 50's, I have some sunspots, wrinkles, etc. that need a little more help. I really don't even think about it as something God cares about one way or the other! I just think you have to be consistent. How can people preach against makeup, but allow suntanning, teeth whitening, braces, etc.? It's all the same.

Well, many of them can until they hit the ripe old age of about 25......

Actually quite a bit "bad" behavior (health wise) can be ignored until about 25, like smoking and heavy drinking. Suddenly all these girls who had model figures despite their partying, start seeing flab where none existed.

I never smoked a cigarette nor drank a drank, but I had 6 kids by age 25 and my 16 year old figure left a little with each. My nice white teeth have brown spots. See?
