It’s like when I went to the local police department for background checks. I accidentally left my pocket knife in my pocket and they wouldn’t let me in the building. I had to go back out to my car and secure it there. I’m a law abiding citizen and the knife was legal. I was charged with no crime. No rights were violated. When I saw that I had it, I cooperated. Actually they are. Even banks have to report financial transactions of $10,000 or more to federal authorities. Ferd knows this because I’ve been talking to him about it….but I’m transferring to the local airport police division processing SIDA background checks,

Profiling as policy without any reasonable suspicion is definitely risky in this legal climate.

Because somebody wears baggy pants and has dreadlocks you can't just "see them as suspect". A person is innocent until proven guilty. They can look as suspect as they want to. Looking suspect isn't a crime.
Actually, the man was carrying an uncommon amount of cash on him. It’s not his clothes; it’s not his skin color, its cash. He might have just gotten through slaughtering a pig, but if he showed up covered in blood they’d detain him until they knew things were kosher. And for the record, he wasn’t charged with a crime. He was simply detained as a measure of public safety. It is the government’s job to protect life, liberty, and property. They were acting for the greater good of a society. How else do you expect them to catch some of these thugs?

Quote:
People who lean on street corners "look suspect".
People who drive around town in continuous loops "look suspect".

Looking suspect cannot, is not, will never be a good measure for legal detainment.
Detainment is detainment. No harm was done to the man. He wasn’t detained indefinitely without legal counsel like Gitmo….he was simply detained so that they could clear him and be sure he wasn’t wanted. I’m sure if you’re daughter was on that flight, you’d appreciate all the safety measures these civil servants take on a daily basis.

Again…it all just sounds like whiney pants, ultracon, bluster. The man could have been wanted and on the run. Had they caught him and he had been proven to be an international weapons dealer doing business with domestic terror cells we’d be cheering these airport security measures. You’re allowing spin to cloud your judgment.

I hate to break it to y'all but for the sake of national security and public safety....some people are going to be inconvinienced. Law abiding citizens are going to have to stop whining.

but you don't respect our laws. We have no laws regarding the carrying of American currency.

We are in America.

You say you are law abiding and admit you got caught trying to break the law by carrying a knife into a police station. You are an admitted law breaker.

It is also dishonest he was detained for public safety. He was illegally detained and when they were told so they let him go.

Liberals use cash pay to play.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Federal agents searched the Capitol Hill office of a Louisiana congressman under investigation on bribery charges Sunday, while newly released court papers said agents found $90,000 in cash last year in his Washington home.

This guy is a Democrat and it comes from bribes.

I think you need to review some of the airport's security directives.

I didn't break a law Coadie... had I broken a law they would have arrested me on the spot.

I don't know the security directives in place at the time. There may have been a security directive that they were to be on the look out for a network of known arms dealers carrying a substantial amount of cash. There's so much you and I don't know while we gripe from the sidelines.

Starting on the 13th of April I'll have to know them. I might give some examples after that.

You stated that we needed to review them.

This appears to state that there are directives that you know of and we are missing.

Do you not know of any directives that fly in the face of our opinion on this matter?

If not then why would you say that we need to review the directives?

The threatening directives? Are they told to threaten arrest and handcuffs for asking questions?

I listened to this 2 times and find their threats are disgusting in their training. I am sure a lot of people on the web have had a putrid experience also.

These interrigators sound like bad people that wear uniforms. i am sure some get reported and fired from time to time.

They need to be reiminded of their own laws. That is to prevent weapons being brought aboard. Under Marxism, it will be unlawfull to carry currency without permission.

However today, it is also not rare for money to have been handled by drug dealers and it couuld have some cocaine on it.

Not true. It was intentionally placed in your pocket using your own hands.

No, not all law breakers get arrested on the spot.
Remember Michelle Obama touched the Queen of England and was NOT arrested yesterday.

Bro, if you carry a knife into a police station, you have broken the law. there is law for that. in fact most places like that have a big red sign in front. So when the Po-Po tell you to take your knife back to the car, they are actually keeping you from breaking the law.

I will not waste my gray matter on responding to the rest of the post but I will quote one of the founding father on the summation you made above.

Benjamin Franklin knew what he was talking about when he said "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. "
