I am a law abiding citizen and as I said, I wouldn’t have been caught by surprise if they delayed me for carrying that much cash. It’s like when I went to the local police department for background checks. I accidentally left my pocket knife in my pocket and they wouldn’t let me in the building. I had to go back out to my car and secure it there. I’m a law abiding citizen and the knife was legal. I was charged with no crime. No rights were violated. When I saw that I had it, I cooperated. These guys are not monsters, they are fellow Americans too. They have a job to do and they want you, me, and themselves to all get home to our family’s safe after the day is done.

It is not within their realm of authority to do so and one should only operate within the realm of their authority.

Actually they are. Even banks have to report financial transactions of $10,000 or more to federal authorities. Ferd knows this because I’ve been talking to him about it….but I’m transferring to the local airport police division processing SIDA background checks,

That is why racial profiling is wrong.

Profiling as policy without any reasonable suspicion is definitely risky in this legal climate.

Because somebody wears baggy pants and has dreadlocks you can't just "see them as suspect". A person is innocent until proven guilty. They can look as suspect as they want to. Looking suspect isn't a crime.

Actually, the man was carrying an uncommon amount of cash on him. It’s not his clothes; it’s not his skin color, its cash. He might have just gotten through slaughtering a pig, but if he showed up covered in blood they’d detain him until they knew things were kosher. And for the record, he wasn’t charged with a crime. He was simply detained as a measure of public safety. It is the government’s job to protect life, liberty, and property. They were acting for the greater good of a society. How else do you expect them to catch some of these thugs?

People who lean on street corners "look suspect".
People who drive around town in continuous loops "look suspect".
Looking suspect cannot, is not, will never be a good measure for legal detainment.

Detainment is detainment. No harm was done to the man. He wasn’t detained indefinitely without legal counsel like Gitmo….he was simply detained so that they could clear him and be sure he wasn’t wanted. I’m sure if you’re daughter was on that flight, you’d appreciate all the safety measures these civil servants take on a daily basis.
Again…it all just sounds like whiney pants, ultracon, bluster. The man could have been wanted and on the run. Had they caught him and he had been proven to be an international weapons dealer doing business with domestic terror cells we’d be cheering these airport security measures. You’re allowing spin to cloud your judgment.
I hate to break it to y'all but for the sake of national security and public safety....some people are going to be inconvinienced. Law abiding citizens are going to have to stop whining.
