I think that "all things work together", but I think that this is just sad, I think that WeDeclare is in bad taste, and I think that it has come out in the election. I am no longer a member of the UPC, and it's politics like this that make me realize why.

The UPC lost a wonderful leader, and a real chance at making peace in the two camps.

I agree that Bro Haney has been a wonderful leader.

Do you know DB? I've heard him teach, but I don't know him personally. I've also read a lot of his articles.

I told my husband not too long ago that I thought he (DB) is the epitome of a good GS.

Honestly, most of what I know is based on his books and some conversations he had via email with my husband.

I really do love Bro. Haney. He brought brightness to my spiritual life when all seemed dark. I will forever appreciate his role in my life as pastor. I would have never ended up where I am now if not for his ministry. For him to be the first ever (I think so anyway) to be voted out is sickening.

But this is what happens when a GREAT pastor steps DOWN to the position of General Superintendent.

Probably because he's the first for this to happen to. Most of the other men stepped down when they were done.

Politics is ammoral, by the way. It's a science of people interaction. We've demonized the word. When it's used for power wielding manipulation, and people say things they don't believe, backstab, insert money, etc then it becomes evil.
