Re: When Are We Forgiven?
If forgiveness doesn't happen until baptism, what is the point of repenting before baptism?

It is to earnestly acknowledge our sins are our own and to have a full sense of our sins and to be ready to own it. We are taking the whole blame upon ourselves and not laying them to the charge of any man or God.
In a word - acknowledgment. That is key.

Acknowledging that we have sinned and confessing those sins. Acknowledging that our sins are our own and no one else is to blame. It's the right thing to do.

But the meaning of the word "repentance" is "To Turn". I don't see it having anything to do with acknowledgement and/or confessing.

How do you turn if you don't acknowledge that you need to turn or acknowledge the reason why you need to turn?

Well, I'll let you figure that out, but I'm just suggesting that you stick to defining "Repentance" to its actual definition.

I can acknowledge WITHOUT turning.
