They were invited, but I don't think anyone showed up. My MIL was even invited! I know Geron Davis's parents were planning on coming, but they ended up not getting to.

I make no apologies for going. I am grown and if people think I am wrong for going, they are intitled to their opinion. I didn't go for spiritual edification. It was strictly a social gathering for those who attended a college. I'm not a new convert and I've been around Pentecost for a while. Everyone could not handle that type of atmosphere and I understand that too. I respect that, but I am not weak or frail.
The one scripture I've had quoted at me more than once was " what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness". But when you think about it, ALL of our righteousness is as filthy rags, no? have you never had fellowship with someone who was unrighteous? Did Jesus break bread with sinners or not? just asking.
I wasn't there to condone certain things and unfortunately, that is what a lot of people believe. The common belief is, if you attended, you are condoning certain one's lifestyle. My presbyter was there... Is he condoning such too???
Yes, there may have been reprobates there. No one went out of their way to fellowship with a reprobate. It wasn't like we had control over who was going to attend this. Furthermore, who determines when one has turned over to a reprobate mind?
Everyone there was not in that situation and those who are, will stand before God for themselves.

Go with that "brother?"
Seems to say just that to me.

Seriously Ron, and I'm not trying to argue...my brother is a backslider from a UPC church...what if I attend a family reunion and there happens to be spontaneous worship that breaks out at this reunion, am I to get up and walk away and declare him a sinner because he doesn't repent for his sins? One of my mom's brother goes to a denominational church...should I not fellowship with him? I am just asking...I look forward to your response...thanks!

Good for you, Mark. It's too bad that everyone couldn't have exercised this type of attitude and enjoyed the fellowship of old friends. The peer pressure in the Apostolic church is overwhelming, sometimes. Glad you went and had a good time.

Good luck getting Ron to respond.
I've asked him three times whether he knows for a fact that this particular individual is guilty of the abominations of which he's accused, or if he's spoken to the individual directly, and he won't answer me.
Don't confuse me with the facts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Bella! What's really cool about it too is that it's reversible - so I have a giraffe jacket and a red jacket!

Mark! Great post and I do appreciate your attitude. I know you don't agree with how I'm living for God, but it didn't stop you from talking with me IN PUBLIC - - lol!!!!!
Just like it didn't affect B4 Nicaea from speaking to me. A little kindness goes a long way. I have the upmost respect for people like that.
