Matthew 9:9-13 NIV
9 As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. "Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and "sinners" came and ate with him and his disciples. 11When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and 'sinners'?"
12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.'[a] For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."
This thread is so disturbing to me, and Renda, I for one am very sorry that it has been marred by such uncharitable behavior. It's a shame.
It seems amazing to me that so many people can close their eyes to very core of the message of Christ:
Matthew 22:34-40 NIV
34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.
35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36 "Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"
37 Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Some seem to posture for the benefit of their cronies, but I wonder how they would behave if they knew that Jesus was watching?
Here is a heads up: He is.

Same one you read. If someone is in an open sinful lifestyle that is an abomination to God & knows better, does the word state that one should not
Go with that "brother?"
Seems to say just that to me.
