Actually, I think Snopes is great. I often refer to them to double check urban legends and chain emails.

It's just comical to me, because I've been one of their biggest fans, recommending them to everyone, and refusing to accept stories as true until I had checked them out at Snopes. Discovering they're run by regular people was sort of a let down.

(I don't know who I thought was behind it...maybe robots??? )

I would hate to be around for some of their marital arguments, lol. Facts and fact checking flying left and right!. lol

I use them for some things, but it is pretty easy to google and see where they get their information from. They are usually pretty good.

There's actually a much more reliable way to authenticate an email. If you receive something that says, "Pass this on to 20 people", you can automatically discredit everything it claims.

In the same vein, look in the address box, if you see it has been sent to 20+ addresses already, there is a good chance you should disregard. Or at least refute. lol

Let's start a chain email claiming notofworks is a straight guy and great christian! And lets tell everyone to pass it on to 20 people!
