Let's get real. No one, not even a good atheist, goes to the pool with someone other than their spouse dressed like that unless they have a motive that is not godly.

If I were her husband, I would believe the act constituted unfaithfulness (cheating). Her desire was not to him, it was to another.

It wouldn't matter to me if they were alone, or if they had sex. All that would matter is that she exposed herself to another man, in a calculated fashion.

I doubt she thought she was exposing her self in a calculated manner. She apparently didn't have the same views you do about showing arms and legs being exhibitionism

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

If she was an Apostolic, through and through, then it was probably deliberate. I don't know anything about her as a person, though, so how do we know this wasn't the norm? Was she always Apostolic? Was she raised that way? Was she a recent convert? I agree that based on that alone, and from the assumption that she had been used to the conservative, Apostolic lifestyle, her motives could be called into question. It was outside of what was normal behavior for her, presumably. Ergo, it was questionable.

That said, I wouldn't call being seen in a bathing suit or bikini "exposing" oneself. That's usually reserved for completely undressing in front of someone, with all the parts visible. I definitely don't equate wearing a bathing suit with exposing oneself in that sense.

I think AFF needs to revisit the concept of modesty (appropriateness).

The baby has been thrown out with the bathwater.

Good grief, Charnock. I'm not endorsing immodesty. I'm just saying that your wife being immodest isn't reason enough to divorce her. Have you read the story of Hosea and Gomer lately?

Apparently you need to revisit the concept of longterm commitment and keeping your word.

Long term commitment goes bye-bye when adultery occurs.

A wife wanting to expose herself to , and spend naked time alone, with someone other than her husband qualifies.

You mean "nearly naked time alone", right?

1. We don't know that they were alone. Even if other friends weren't present, it MIGHT have been a public pool.

2. She wasn't naked. Naked isn't the same as wearing underwear.
