Wow, Hoovie, that's harsh...but then I remember that these people have tons of money and hire the best spin doctors in the business to ensure the money keeps coming in.
If I were a cynical person, I'd be thinking that the National Enquirer story (true or not) cut into the cashflow, and right at a time when BH was asking for $2 million to cover a shortfall. However, the original message (that there was nothing between BH and PW, the Enquirer is obviously lying) didn't restore the cashflow, so more drastic measures (i.e., going to Charisma and saying It's Over) were in order.
Otherwise I can't help but agree with your assessment of their impact.
