"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Pray my friend feels something different in ch

God is awesome and in control.Sunday morning during service my friend was so moved she was crying and the same thing in the evening service..it was like the music and the message was so right for her.My friend has had a really rough and abusive life...She has this hard and rough attitude...been in trouble with the law and she came to church with alot of shields and barriers up but I knew that God was able...I thank all of you for your prayers....tonight one of my friends sang Not Guilty by Mandesa and I was about to burst into tears...knowing what I know about my friend and her life and knowing what effect that annointed song was having on her heart it was like I was getting to overhear the Lord speaking to her...please keep her in prayer her name is Melissa. She was so excited about coming back to church when she comes back to visit.I was so proud of my pastor and my church family and how they all made her feel loved and welcome.
