Please pray for my friend and her family
My friend Maria lost her 15 month old granddaughter two days ago. She drowned in a pond.
Maria's daughter, Charli, is the mother of Sayde. She is a young girl still in high school who made a big mistake and got pregnant. But she did the right thing and did not abort the baby. She and Sayde were still living at home with Maria and Rick. But Charli and her boyfriend recently split up. He moved in with a 23 year old girl who had a 2 year old of her own. It was his day to have Sayde for visitation. He went to work and left Sayde at home with the new girlfriend. She apparently was distracted while watching the babies. Her story is that her two year old let Sayde out the door and that's how she ended up in the pond.
Charli is having a terrible, terrible time with this (of course!), as are Rick and Maria and the rest of the family.
In addition to this, Rick's sister (who he was very close to) just died less than a month ago of cancer.
And Rick has kidney failure and is on dialysis, waiting for a transplant.
So, see, this family has had way more than their share of heartaches lately. Please ask that the Comforter will surround them with His peace right now as only He can do.
Thanks so much!!!

So very sad. My heart and prayers go out to this family.

Margie, May the Comforter spread as it were, a blanket of peace and comfort over
this entire family today, and in the days ahead, in Jesus Name!

Re: Please pray for my friend and her family
Thanks, everyone, for remembering this family in prayer.
The latest news on this is that the 23 year old girlfriend who was supposed to be watching Sayde (16 months old) along with her daughter is now being investigated by Children's Services. It turns out that she lost another child not long ago. Don't know if that one was hers or someone else's. Apparently, she fell asleep and rolled over on the baby, killing it. So now that Children's Services knows that, they are wondering if Sayde's death was truly an accident. Right now, they are saying that, at the least, they will probably charge her with negligent homicide. Her actions are certainly not acceptable. But she also needs prayer. I can't even imagine being in her shoes right now

WOW, Margie. That would be very hard to imagine two accidents. Such a tragedy!
