"For This Cause" A Discussion About Angelic Hair

1 Corinthians 11

7For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.

8For the man is not of the woman: but the woman of the man.

9Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.

10For this cause ought the woman to have power on her head because of the angels.

11Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

12For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

What does the "for this cause" mean? What is it referring to?

I have always wondered about the "because of the angels" portion of this scripture...

But the "For this cause", IMO, is in reference to the previous scripture where it states "Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man."

It would be treated as would other similar references such as nevertheless, therefore etc which would refer BACK rather than forward.

You are correct. I have never understood why people took the 'for this cause' to be referring to the angels. It's referring to the woman being created for the man. However, I don't understand what the 'because of the angels' verse means, and many scholars don't either.

That's why ... if theologians can't agree ... I think it's simply fishing to have one's paradigm to fit the Word ....

There isn't enough here to formulate an Angelic Hair or Uncut Hair doctrine ... me thinks that those that seek to interpret "because of the angels" do so to advance their erroneous agenda

I know the Word PP ... yet it's apparent ... that there is no agreement on this passage ... I can post 4 of the prevalent interpretations on the meaning of because of the angels ... but knowing your view on this matter ... I know ... that you seek to advance one interpretation ...

Why would the symbol be minimized because we may not comprehend the total import of the statement? It must mean something important if the angels are included in this text so if I don't understand it that does nothing to it's importance. Evidently Heaven is concerned if the angels are injoined on this subject. Notice the incarnation has the angels in it's text "seen of the angels." Angels are ministering spirits concerned with our welfare unless this is in reference to evil angels who rejected God's authority or the angels that guard the throne of God lest the glory of man would be seen in His majestic presence.

Angels are injoined in Revelation and in end-time prophecies yet INTERPRETATIONS ABOUND ... and yes heaven is concerned ... in every biblical topic .... but to make your tradition salvational ... is irresponsible and full of error.
