I'm not sure about that. When people were on the computer looking at porn, the next kid would get on the computer and then get pop-ups and some of it was video. I hear tell (not that I know that much about it) that the companies give a few free "teaser" videos to get people hooked. That would make sense as porn works like a drug. It is like the coke people giving new users their first few lines for free.

So, I ask again, are we better off having no drugs laws? Meth and coke for all? How about no prescription meds? We could just have doctor "recommendations".

What is the difference between streaming porn and magazines in the basement/under the bed? To a young boy and from a moral standpoint, it doesn't make a lick of difference.

Not only that, but it would be easier to look at a magazine without getting caught than looking at internet porn. No need to worry about clearing your cookies and internet history, no need to worry about tracking programs.

I feel the need to state here that my father did not have any pornographic material in our household. I was exposed to it by accident, and then by purpose after that, lol.

I think the difference is in the intensity of the porn. That is why there is a difference between soft core and hard core.

We aren't in court, Baron.

An allegory comparison can often be made that may not be an exact comparison but food for thought can be gleaned from comparing the two subjects. And, since porn works like a drug, I think it is a legitimate comparison and we can see clearly using that example how there are different tiers made for different classifications of drugs etc.

I am just as leary as the next guy about the government being given and inch and taking a mile. But, we need to be realistic too. Do you know why the subprime mess happened? Because they REPEALED the glass-steagall act put into effect after the great depression and it opened the door WIDE OPEN for companies like Citi and others to take great advantage of the system. We need SOME regulations.

Yes, but the magazines underneath the bed were hard core also. Hustler, Penthouse, those are hard core magazines that were under a lot of parent's beds. The videos under the bed were hard core as well.

To say that there were mainly soft core pornography before the internet is ridiculous. All that pornographic material has to show to be hard core is to penetration, and there was a lot of that shown well before the internet.

It still isn't a good analogy. You are trying to compare an illegal activity with a legal activity. Caffeine is a drug, you should try and compare caffeine to porn, that would make more sense, since both are legal.
