Re: Billy Graham Interview

I believe Billy's statements are being taken out of context ,in this thread, he doesn't believe that there is salvation in any other name. Just that some may have believed in the true God and followed to the best of their understanding, simply that they didn't know His name.

I believe he believes as I believe, the folks will be saved after death, "because of what Jesus has done", so the fact is no one will be saved without Jesus.

CJ, you know that Graham was not a UR advocate.

Re: Billy Graham Interview

When he was younger......no he obviously wasn't a UR advocate. As the the years go by, seems he has changed his stance a bit. There are many Christian universalists scattered in denominations all through christianity. And people that hope. But still Christian Universallists believe it's only posible through Christ. in all due time.

Assume assume assume. I've seen UR people claim UR advocates out of far too many people who simply were not at all in reaching attempts to make UR more respectful in ears of others.

Calm down Mike.
I'm not assuming BG is a universalist. Just that his stance/message has changed over the years. Anyone who watched the video could see that. I'm neither 'reaching' or 'attempting'.

I am not excited about this issue, so I need no calming down, and you simply stated Graham believes like you do : "no he obviously wasn't a UR advocate. As the the years go by, seems he has changed his stance a bit." What would he have changed except UR if you made UR the subject?

Whatever.

Re: Billy Graham Interview

if you compare what he said in the video in this thread and compared it to his message at his crusades through his career we'd have to agree he 'has changes his stance'. I didn't say BG was a universalist.

If Billy Graham believes that one can be saved outside of the Christian faith... does he still believe that it is Jesus Christ who holds the power to save those who never heard, or whose faith was insufficient?

I ask this because if so, Graham's postion isn't that people can be saved apart from Jesus. Graham's belief would be more akin to Christian Universalism, a belief which extends Christ's saving power beyond the grave.
