BT, if people want to cast others in a bad light and issue their judgment, they'll find scriptures and use them even if they have to twist the heck out of them.
Bottom line is, the passage in Matthew 7 is a directive to help us identify false prophets and teachers. Unfortunately, those who find themselves in the midst of a disagreement go running much too quickly to these words by Jesus and use them irresponsibly to condemn and judge others.

No, my writings are in red. It's simple. Use the copy & paste method. It's fairly simple.

What are you going to do until the fruit appears? Are you saying that it is impossible for you to sin tomorrow because you have the fruit?
I've made judgements on AFF about someone who was posting negative things. I formed an opinion to eventually find out that the person was "putting us on!" But I didn't know this. And I couldn't see any fruit that would tell me what was going on!
How will you know, when you make a judgement (excuse me - a fruit inspection) that the person just hasn't had time for the fruit to mature.
The best thing we can do is leave the judging up to the "Final Judge" and make sure we are right ourselves!
Mt 7:3* And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mt 7:4* Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mt 7:5* Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Lu 6:41* And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Lu 6:42* Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

I had hoped that you would separate quotes rather than to jumble them all up together like that.
Oh well....
I will be back with an answer to each of your retort later on.

I started a thread "BY THEIR FRUITS..."
I think the truth of the issue is made known by comparing the Garden story with Matthew 7.

Re: Just How Complicated and Convoluted Can We Mak
Wow, a hot thread. Hate arriving late on the scene
By the way, the "first works" are not my own, they are His work.
I can't make myself right with God, He's made me right with God. Our nature wants to give us a key role in this grand story, robbing the grandeur and amazingness of His Grace. It's too bad... We are able to confess with our mouth and believe in our heart (turning our hearts toward Jesus = repenting).
Belief is not lip service (though it could be just as easy as tongues-babbling). Believing is the most primal form of Christ's disciple-making. It's only possible through/by the Spirit. It's heart-level, life-changing, born-again producing, etc..
