I remember the "first" snow of the season the older folks wouldn't let you make snow cream - said there was radiation in it. We had to wait for the second snow to make the cream.
How funny is that?

Hmm, I've never heard of that. Then again, we didn't make snow cream.

I remember that, of course we didn't get snow very often.

I don't know exactly how it was made, but I know it had vanilla extract in it. I really liked the texture, too.

A huge bowl of snow (no yellow snow)
A little evaporated milk

 Growing up in the Rust Bucket Ohio Valley (in the 60s and 70s), we got very used to dead birds, mutated fish, and odd shades of water. When you walked outside at night the sky glowed and everything smelled like rotten eggs. I guess the rest of the world is just catching up.
