Removing the Power of Evil
Deeply grieved in my heart as I watch one after another fall away from God in discouragement owing to having been defeated by the power of evil, there are a few things that I have learned that would be a great help for those who are undergoing severe trials of temptations. There is power to overcome when assailed by grievous by the help of good spirits that linger near to help in the time of need.
Evil has no power over anyone who sincerely from faith believes himself to be little, as to be nothing, bowed in humility. When we accept the truth that all the evil
feelings and thoughts we experience are from evil spirits from hell and that they do not originate in ourselves, we gain the power from that realization to reject those evil feelings and thoughts. This truth provides us with the necessary power to reject evil thoughts and feelings. Without this truth in our understanding and firmly implanted in our will, whenever an evil feeling or thought enters our consciousness, we are likely to accept it as coming from ourselves. Nothing is further from the truth of reality since all influence upon us are from influx of spirits that are with us continually both good and evil.
All of our consciousness is from influx. Influx either come from good spirits from heaven or from evil spirits from hell. What we have to do is to accept the influx of good and act upon it, acknowledging from the heart that it is from good spirits and not from ourselves. And further, we must reject the influx of evil, acknowledging from the heart that this influx is from evil spirits.
While we associate in life and daily activities with many sorts of people of every variety, we come in contact with a great variety of spirits from those associations, some of which may be good while others will be evil. With this understanding, we have the power from the will to reject what is evil and to accept what is good. This truth enables us to do this instantly, completely free from dwelling on the person from which any negative states have come. Thus, we avoid stepping into the negative states of contempt for others or of despising others. For we know from the heart that they, just like ourselves, are receiving influx from evil spirits also.
We are surrounded by both good and evil spirits every moment of our lives. Now we have the power from instruction to move forward every day of our lives and to live our lives as the Lord would have us to live, forever acknowledging our debt to the Lord and the neighbor and forever rejecting the influx of evil from evil spirits. Then, we can say from the heart, “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Psa. 118:24.
It is my hope that someone who has not yet come to overcome the power of temptation might be helped, at least a bit, with this little information. You can strong in the Lord and in the power of His might depending on which spirits, whether they be good or evil, that you are inclined to give place to in your life.
