Political Liberals Vs Religious Converatives

I have always thought the terms were switched when it came to politics and religion.

Political liberals want more laws, rules and regulations to make everyone do things the way they want them done.

It has often struck me that the same people who are rabidly conservative when it comes to politics..... want limited government, less laws, LIBERTY... are often the same people who think we need tons of laws to be able to serve God. (and are called conservatives)

The government wants to force us to wear seatbelts, tell us when and where we can talk on our cell phones, how tall our garage can be.... and conservatives hate that. They say that we don't need laws for every single little thing. The government needs to back off.

And yet the same people often think we need laws for every single little thing in the church. Video technology is invented - we need a law for that. Internet - need a law for that. Facebook - need a law for that. French manicures - need a law for that.

We get so annoyed at the government for thinking that they have to make a new law for every issue that comes up. And then do the same thing in the church.

It has always struck me as very ironic.

I see it more as conservatives want to legislate morality... in both government and the local church.
