I don't think that testing the gold flakes would be "unbelief."
In Malachi God told those Old Testament Levites/Priests to "prove" Him ( Mal 3:10) and in 1 Thessalonians 5:21 we are exhorted to "prove" things like prophecy, etc.
Besides, if they were real gold, it might be a way to help people or churches meet their budget in these tuff times.

Years ago when a group would get together around a tree crawling around and barking like dogs at the Presbyterian camp meeting in Kentucky, they called it "treeing the devil."

:::MORE DETAILS:::
The "prophet" had a bottle of water and was splashing people as he yelled "VIRTUE... VIRTUE..." Water splashed on the drummer and the drum set.
Sounds like the same "prophet" that was making a splash in the Apostolic Assemblies in south Texas one or two years ago.

****EVEN MORE DETAILS****
There was also a "healer" in the service. The prophet and the healer travel together. People claimed healing... ...of nothing more than minor aches and pains.
I have their names and would post them, but I'm not sure that's allowed here.

That is an easy question. The ones that I approve of are ok and those I don't are wacko!!
When I see no New Testament precedent I am very leery. I don't recall anywhere in the NT where things like "golden flakes" or jewels, etc showed up in a prayer meeting.
I would guess that in 99.8% of these situations my "wackomoter" would be pegging the limit and I also would have to excuse myself from the proceedings.
Sadly I think Satan knows there is more than one way to skin a cat as we say in the South. One way to hinder the church from reaching people is to keep it fixated on unbiblical mysticism.

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Well, it wasn't long before others began to exclaim that they also see the gold flakes in the air. This made my friend uncomfortable. He or she did not want to be a part of it and walked to the kitchen of the church until the circus was over.
I told my friend that I would reject that kind of thing, but I'm no prophet. If gold flakes began to appear during my preaching engagements I may have a change of heart. I also told my friend that there was an apostolic preacher whose mother woke up with gold fillings in her teeth. The preacher said that God was going to do a new thing. I haven't heard much about the preacher in a few years now.
Anyway, what ya'll think?

Very much charismatic and sounds very similar to the Brownsville Revival.
Feathers in the air, gold pixi dust, legs getting longer, gold teeth, all of course based on false theologies to start with (story about gold in the fish's mouth). Hocus Pocus bologna. RUN!
