Ronald Reagan only performed successfully in six different careers: radio sportscaster, movie actor, trade union president, corporate spokesman, two-term governor and two-term president of the United States. Lucky for him he wasn't hampered by Jimmy Carter's intelligence!"
As a teenager very interested in politics and National security I followed the 1976 Presidential election very closely even though I was not quite old enough to vote. I became a huge RR fan and was terribly disappointed when the Republican convention nominated Gerald Ford who I was certain would lose the general election that fall to Jimmy Carter, and he did.
In 1980 I was in my senior year at JCM and after graduating that May continued to live in Jax till the end of the year. During that time I volunteered at RR's MS. State campaign headquarters. I had a great time and actually was the only one out of around 7,000 people to get Ronald Reagan's autograph about three days before he was elected President. Sadly my mother accidently threw it away not realizing what it was about a year later. Arghhh!!!!!

I know you will disagree but I think Sarah Palin gets the same paint thrown on her as they tried with RR about being a dunce.
