I'm so into wainscoting right now. I saw a photo of a dining room, doors closed, and the wainscoting was also on the back of the doors. I'm thinking of doing that in my sunroom. LOL!
I don't let my husband do the chair rails anymore. When he routed the ones in my hallway, you can tell that they are not smooth. I sanded and sanded, but couldn't fix them. So, I put them up and I don't try to look at them. Someday I'm going to change them out.
Probably not. I'd have to drag the air compressor into the house.
