What did you not like about cruising?

I've only been on one cruise and we absolutely loved it.

We were floating around with the poor people on a "fun ship," but it was very enjoyable.

We did not like the feeling of being on a very efficient, but very large dairy farm. Meaning we were part of the herd being told to have fun for a short amount of time before having to return to the ship. Also, we had to pay an extra 30 bucks for a coke card for unlimited soda and even then only a bartender could pour one for you. Also, the drink prices were outrageous.

Even the buffet, while good for the first couple of days, soon became very plain since it was clearly planned for the lowest common denominator as far as taste and spice tolerance went.

The first thing we did when we got home was have Dominoes pizza's delivered!

We've been spoiled by true all-inclusive's where once you pay your fee there are NO other expenses (other then gift shop purchases). And I will let others fill in the blanks as to WHAT exactly was free at these resorts versus on the cruise ship.

Re: Princess Cruise

Amazing pics, beautiful place y'all went to. About 25 of us (in-laws and out-laws) went to Cozumel on Carnival Ecstasy back in December. My first time to cruise, which I wasn't crazy about sailing overseas. Once I got onboard and we debarked, I was a changed man. For the money we spent, I can't imagine the cost separately. Never got sea sick or even felt close to it. I think we'll be back. It's for some, while not for others...

I never got seasick either which is a surprise considering I DO suffer from pretty sever motion sickness. The boat moved quite a bit but I always kept any nauseous feelings at bay through sheer intellectual will.

If the Captain hears you call his ship a "boat" he will likely strangle you.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Mmmmmm... I wonder if he appreciated me calling him "Skipperrrrrrr!" every time I passed him in a hall?

Actually his title was Commodore -which I am thankful I never spent too much thinking about otherwise I probably would have let a "klink!" out when in ear shot.

Yes, his name was Cletus. When you have to explain it it stops being funny.
