PO,
I hope that you have your internet connection problem worked out by now. I know how aggravating that can be.

Thanks, I'm still not sure. Not having any problems right now, but the phones are still not ringing correctly, so I'm thinking it is a phone line here. My husband repaired a piece outside that my dog, when he was alive, chewed on and I never told him about it since he didn't like my dog. I'm thinking the connection started wearing out in the weather.

Until 1973, not even the Fundamental Doctrine had the phrase "for the remission of sins" in it. DKB has offered the opinion that this was an "unfortunate oversight" based upon a conversation he reported having with Stanley Chambers (or something Bro. Chambers had said publicly). However, adding the phrase to the Fundamental Doctrine à la Acts 2:38, merely perpetuates the original ambiguities.
There is a lot of pressure right now to overhaul the AoF and purge it of all references to "pardon and forgiveness of sins" being attached to "genuine repentance."

Pel, my only problem with this argument is that the vast majority of us have never read the Articles of the Constitution or whatever they are called. We have our Bibles. And of course, whatever the preacher has taught us. But that's about it. I never even considered checking what was in something like these Articles back when I was UPC. I'm not saying I agree, or disagree. I'm just saying that what I DO believe is based on Scripture alone.

I've been reading all of the posts trying to catch up. Some of you really laid it on him and it seems he must have tucked tail and run!
I don't blame him I'd run and hide too! But you know what, he may have a tiny pinch of love left in him. He was almost taking up for NotofWorks it seemed at one point! That's almost a miracle in itself.
If you don't learn something on AFF it's simply because your mind is like concrete and it's already set up!

Ya'll must be proud of yourselves and your comedy. But go ahead, mock and make fun of me because there are no rules at AFF about making fun of and mocking people. So have at it, that's allowed!
I'm not running, I'm not hiding!! It'll take more than 2nd grade level teasing to make me quit.

Interesting. I thought discussing another member's infraction was not permissible.

You know, somewhere I missed that verse, "Repent for the remission of your sins." I did read one, however that says, "Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins." Now that verse I've heard of!

Here's a couple for you.......there's probably a lot you've missed with your tunnel vision.....
Acts 10:43 (Whole Chapter)
To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
Romans 3:25 (Whole Chapter)
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Heh, heh who said they were teasing! I know you can't take a joke and it appears you can't take the truth either.
Do you believe in taking medicine? If you do you better take some blood pressure medicine for it sure seems your blood pressure has been up on this post.
Are you always as irritated as you seem to be on here?
Have you met NOW (I'm talking about NotofWorks!). I was surprised the other day when you were taking up for him. You and he are as different as oil and water. Ain't no way you're gonna mix your beliefs together. NOW doesn't believe "fat meat is greasy" and you won't eat fat meat! What a combo.
OldPathsII hang in there! I'm sure you're gonna convert several to your thinking. But don't count on me being one of them! Been there, done some of your stuff and in no way will I go back. I'm still trying to figure out why the Old Timers preached a woman had to wear hose with a seam down the back. A crooked seam down the back of woman's leg caught my eye quicker than the blinking of a ants eye! (I didn't mean ants eye but my new found spell checker knows better what I mean than I do!)
Good day OPII.... I like the sound of that as OPTooToo! Heh, and by the way I made it through the 3 grade...thank you! (Smile Old Man!)
