I'd rather sing these songs.

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel’s veins;

Lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains;
And sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.

OR

Down at the cross where my Savior died,
Down where for cleansing from sin I cried,
There to my heart was the blood applied;
Glory to His Name!

These songs remind me how I did not merit God's grace, but while I was a sinner, He died for me. I belong to Christ (not an organization), washed in the precious blood the Lamb of God.

They sing "I'm a pentecostal, I'm not ashamed."

I sing "I'm a blood bought believer in Jesus Christ, I'm not ashamed."

Just my $0.02 FWIW
I could not agree with you more!

Re: I/Me/My Syndrome

I'm not UPC in doctrine but I loved it!!!!! She sounded a lot better than that woman of the world most of us use to listen to and then when we would get out on the dance floor with a half gallon of that witches brew in our belling and dancing around like some D.A that we were. The words that were being sang about how stupid we were loving somebody that was with our best friend. Those words then didn't seems to bother us. But now that we are all cleaned up and knnowledgeable in the word this sort of thing offends us.Thank God you don't have to second guess if they are alive!
Some of you guys better be a little careful what you attacking.
I'm old enough to remember when they use to throw rocks and rotten eggs at the church building when we were in there on our knees praying for them the sinners that they might come to Jesus and be saved. When we were in the community people from other churches would laugh and make jokes about us. They would shun us and say we were of the devil.
I wish I had been at that convention I would have shown them how an old Baptacostol can really dance!!!

Attacking? Seriously??? You need to do a little more research. You, my friend, may not be UPC. But, to blatantly call this an "attack" makes me think you've got a lot of learning to do. Stay within your close-knit circle of "friends" and keep on patting yourself on the back for what you are and what you stand for. In the meantime, there's a whole world out my front door that people like you would overlook in a heartbeat just by your arrogance and holy ghost boldness...

I actually enjoyed that for the most part. I thought if I listened to it, I would emotionally whig out. But it wasn't too bad.

The song serves nothing more than to boost self-pride. Yes, I love the rythm. It's very catchy. No problem there. But, it's all about I/Me/My, isn't it?

Re: I/Me/My Syndrome

I'm not angry at all. It just amazes me at what still continues with some people. But, that's okay because there will come a day that things are put into perspective for the staunchest (if that's even a word), devout, traditional people. No, not all traditional Pentecostal peeps are like what this video portrays...much like not every person that dresses in a disapproving way (according to some UPC-ers) are hellbound and unholy...
